March Papertwirlies Team Challenge - Dazzling Delight

Throughout the month of March we will be featuring the creative solutions from the Paper Twirlies team for our "Best Dressed" challenge. This week please take a look at Dazzling Delight's very pretty Quilled Flower Cupcake Toppers.

Tell us how your item fits the theme: Best "Dressed"

I've been up to my eyeballs in cake and cupcakes lately. I've been thinking, dreaming and brainstorming in cupcakes (mostly Batman theme for my boys birthdays last month). I LOVE CUPCAKES and I love to make them as pretty as possible. Unfortunately you can't make a Batman cupcake look "pretty". That's "just not cool, Mom." So, for Paper Twirlies, I set forth to make Quilled Flower Cupcake Toppers! The perfect little addition to give your cupcake a little something extra (just please don't put it on a Batman cupcake!)

My favorite medium to work with is paper! I love paper! I go crazy over paper! I discovered paper quilling (aka paper fillagre) when I was about 13 years old and my great-aunt (who is a nun) paper quilled my brother's high school graduation announcement. I was fascinated, so I ran to the library (no internet back then people!) and got out every book I could about paper quilling and I have been obsessed ever since!

What a good idea! I've been quilling for years and never thought about quilling cupcake toppers. I have tons of free patterns on my web site (Whimsiquills.com) which I use on cards etc. I can see where many of them could be used as cupcake toppers just by gluing them to a toothpick. Thanks for the neat idea!

Awesome blog Whimsiquills! This challenge is great for finding additionals ways to use quilling. I love the more 3D effects of quilling and this one fits the bill perfectly!

I agree, I never would have thought to use the flowers in the way she did; super cute and very clever. I want to make some too! Thanks for visiting our blog Pat, I too love your site for ordering and ideas.
